Product Description

What would you attempt to do if you knew that you couldn’t fail?

Many of us are scared of change or trying something new, fearing we may be unsuccessful, or look silly.  Why change what we’re comfortable with? We’re happy with the status quo.

But what if your life was thrown into chaos with the diagnosis of a chronic illness? Would you be able to continue?  Would you be able to try something new?  Or would you grow resigned and surrender to your fate?

Carol Cooke was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but has gone on to embrace the changes and challenges in her life.  She set herself goals many others wouldn’t have dared, and has gone on to win Paralympic Gold and also become a World Champion.

In this, her first book, Cycle of Life – A Gold Medal Paralympian’s Secrets to Success, Carol shares her secrets to overcoming adversity, accepting change, finding your hidden courage and creating a winning mindset.

Carol truly believes that if you dare to face your fears and believe in yourself, you can overcome anything.

    Hi Carol,

Don’t know if you remember me, but I interviewed you when I was at the Geelong Advertiser, I think Heather from The Bike Show introduced us.

Well, I’m contacting you to say I’ve just read your book for the second time and it’s again been an inspiring read.

A couple of months ago, I was one of the five per cent of News Ltd staff to have their jobs made redundant and it was a very low point.
However, I have been reading Cycle of Life again and you have inspired me to stay committed to achieve my goals.

    Many thanks,
    Alison Aprhys

This is undoubtedly a book where the value to the reader far exceeds the monetary cost. Carol’s story and her approach to life are nothing short of inspiring. It is fair to say the world and luck have not been kind to her, but she has shown a tenacity that has seen her succeed in sport and in life. ~ Kevin Stevenson

Hi Carol, I have just finished reading your amazing book and not only enjoyed it but learned much from it ,not only that , but I visit older people with view to encourage them and as soon as I got into your book I realised I must take it around to one of these ladies.
I just read a few portions of ch 2 , and Alison said ” oh I’d like to read that bk ” so I said take it I can read it later. ”
This Lady had always been someone to help others, but has just now been diagnosed with early dementia , and she is not coping with what will come. Gets giddy and was rejecting a walker and virtually staying in her house except when taken out.
Has now begun to use her walker, walking over to shops, to church, and to craft to return your book to me, where she was so over the moon with the friendliness of the ladies there. I must close , but so many of your words can be great encouragement for people in different circumstances. ~ Leila Lydeamore
