It seems like it has been a long time coming, but tomorrow I head off to Sydney to meet up with the rest of the Australian Para-Cycling Team before we head to Canada on Friday. It will be quite a journey to reach Matane, Quebec for the 3rd World Cup starting on the 23rd of August and then the World Championships in Baie-Comeau, Quebec starting on the 29th of August, but I am ready to race.
All the hard work has been done, so what happens from here is out of my control. I can only go out and give it my all. What I can control is the effort I put in to every race. It is my goal to become World Champion, it is something I missed out on 2 years ago and I will be racing the reigning World Champion on her home soil. The past has informed me about how she races, but the past (her win) certainly won’t control me, that is something I have influence over.
The one thing I will be doing is enjoying every moment and finding fulfillment in every race I have. I think that this will make me not only feel great, but I’ll do great!
