I was sent a link the other day from my friend Alexandra Andre which I have included below. It is a song about the fact that we are all ‘Walking Stories’ written and sun by Jilian Linklater. It made me realise that we all have a story to tell, every single one of us.
I can’t tell you how many times, after giving a talk, that I have someone say they could never stand up and speak not because they were scared to stand in front of a crowd but because they wouldn’t have anything to say. Well guess what…we all have a story to tell. I think that the most important thing to remember is that we all started out the same way, we started from nothing. As we grow up so does our story.
You need to look at your life and the lives of those around you to realise that we all have a story. It’s about teasing out that story and finding the meaning in it. Share those defining moments with others around you because your story of the events in your life made you who you are and will help you connect with those around you in a much deeper way.
We all have a ‘Why’ in our lives. Why do we do what we do, no matter what that is. Our ‘Whys’ are powerful, they help us to overcome obstacles and achieve the seeming impossible. Every single one of us has done something in our lives to achieve and it’s important to share those stories to inspire others.
So today I want you to really think about all the things you have accomplished in your life, no matter how small you think they are and share those accomplishments with others. For your life stories will help inspire others to get out and try to accomplish as well.
