WOOHOO as of 11:59 pm last night we were out of lockdown…well mostly!  We don’t need one of the four reasons to leave the house, we can actually catch up with someone at a cafe and sit down, we can go to the pub or the local restaurant and our small businesses around our neighbourhoods can re-open.  We still have to stay within our 25km radius and there are rules in place about how many people can visit you in your house.  But those and gyms opening up will be changing soon.

It has been a tough 7 months for Victorians and especially for us who live in Melbourne.  The last 3 months have seemed neverending but we have arrived.  Lets be smart and keep the things in place that got us here.  Social distancing, washing our hands, wearing masks and coughing or sneezing into our elbow.  I don’t want to ever be locked down like that again.  Yes it was easier for me than some people, I have Russ and Jack (the wonder dog) to keep me company.  I also have a bike I can ride inside with virtual programs which to be honest is pretty good…no cars, trucks, pedestrians or red lights to deal with.  But I have missed riding with friends and sitting down to a coffee afterwards.  It was my social outlet and gave Russ and I bit of our own space.

My heart goes out to those families who have lost loved ones because of this virus, I feel for you and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  I am lucky that I have not been affected personally but really feel for those that have.

I am so proud of the people of this city for working so hard to make this work.  Yes I know there have been some idiots doing the wrong thing, but that will always happen.

So thank you to all those who have sacrificed a lot this last 3 months and I really look forward to seeing you out on the road and maybe when I see you we can do a Happy Dance together (as long as it comes with coffee!)

Enjoy the Freedom but remember how we got here!

Awesome job to all in Melbourne. It will be great to see people I haven’t seen for a very long time. Enjoy the fresh air & a sit down coffee at your favourite cafe.

Thanks Lyn, it would be great to catch up as well! Tomorrow I think I’ll be sitting and having a coffee after training! Can’t wait.
