Paving Your Own Path: Embracing the Journey of Self-Discovery

Are you following your own path or someone else’s? In a world often nudging us towards predetermined routes, the true magic lies in steering our own ship.

As a three-time Paralympian and accomplished author, I’ve mastered the art of forging my own destiny.

I remember the exhilaration of cycling towards my Paralympic gold medals. That's a metaphor for life – navigating the twists and turns, facing challenges head-on, and racing towards your dreams. It's about defying the expectations society may place upon us and creating our own narrative.

You just have to have the courage to shatter limitations. Just as I have conquered the cycling challenges I set myself, you too can triumph over the doubts and fears that often deter you from pursuing your true passions. I hope that my journey can encourage all of you to take that leap, to pedal towards your aspirations with unyielding determination.

I guess I have been lucky in life because I have a mother who helped pave the way for other women and taught me about taking chances in life.  In 1957 as a young 21 year old, who was in her first year of teaching in the big city of Toronto, she decided that she wanted to become a police woman.  This is not something that women did back in the 1950’s, she was bucking the trend and being fearless.  She never thought about fear, change or failure, just the opposite…the excitement, the transformation and the success of a new career.

In my books, "Finding Your Inner Gold" and "The Force Within," I try to echo the sentiment of self-discovery. They are guidebooks for those seeking inspiration to break free from the mold and embrace their uniqueness. I hope my words are a beacon, guiding readers towards the power of originality and the joy of embracing life's positives.
