Opportunities are Endless
How many times have we been told that when one door closes, another will open? I’ve heard it more times than I can count. But I don’t fully agree with that sentiment. Yes, there will be other doors, but they don’t just magically open on their own. You have to take action—you have to seek them out, open them, and have the courage to step through.
Now that my international cycling career has come to an end, I’ve found myself wondering what doors are out there for me. I’m ready to explore, to push through the ones that pique my interest. You never know what you might find on the other side—maybe something you’ll love, or maybe something you won’t. But the beauty of trying is that, at the very least, you’ve gained new experiences.
The idea of endless opportunities is freeing because it gives us permission to experiment, to learn, and to grow. I’ve spent years focusing on cycling, but now I’m excited to explore new passions—whether that’s through other para sports, my speaking engagements, or perhaps something I haven’t even imagined yet. It’s about keeping an open mind, knowing that not every venture will be a success, but every venture will teach you something valuable.
Life is full of possibilities, but it’s up to us to turn those possibilities into realities. I’m excited to see what comes next, and I encourage you to do the same—be curious, be open, and take action. After all, the doors aren’t going to open themselves!
